Fire Rated Ductwork Installed at Tremough Campus, Penryn


Partridge Ventilation has recently completed the installation of Firemac’s fire rated ductwork system, as an integral part of the passive fire protection within Tremough Campus in Penryn. The Exchange will open in the Autumn term as a world-class learning, teaching and research facility at the heart of the Campus and will provide a place for students and staff of the University of Exeter and University College Falmouth to study, collaborate and socialise together. The £10 million shared space for learning, teaching and research, will house the Campus library, eating areas, learning spaces and an auditorium, and has been designed to achieve an Excellent rating from BREEAM, the world’s leading authority on environmentally sustainable building.

FM Blue wins award for best Passive Fire Protection installation at Fire Excellence Awards for Cannon Street Station, London

Norman Macdonald joins Firemac as Technical Director

We are delighted to welcome Norman Macdonald to the Firemac team, as our Technical Director.

Norman has a huge amount of experience in the passive fire testing industry, and is a physicist by training. He has over 36 years’ experience in Technical positions within the passive fire protection field, and prior to joining Firemac worked at BRE (Building Research Establishment) for almost 10 years as a Senior/Principal Consultant.



Southern General Hospital, Glasgow

FM Fabric, one of the leading solutions for fire rated ductwork in the UK has been specified as the sole system to be used in the re-development of Glasgow Southern General Hospital.


This project, budgeted at £842 million is the biggest of its kind in Europe, will be fully operational in 2015 and links maternity, children’s and adult acute services all together on the one campus. It will also have the biggest Critical Care complex and one of the biggest Emergency Departments in Scotland.
